Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced construction professional to join our team as a Working Foreman/Woman. As a key member of our site team, you will play a dual role, working hands-on while supervising and coordinating site activities to ensure the timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations and subcontractors.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Lead by example in delivering high standards of workmanship and site conduct.
- Support and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
- Monitor material usage, deliveries, and ensure proper storage and usage.
- Coordinate work sequences with the Site Manager and address any issues or delays.
- Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings where necessary.
- Act as a key point of contact for trades and suppliers.
- Carry out quality inspections and report any non-conformances.
- Maintain accurate site records and daily diaries.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and team coordination skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, high attention to detail and quality, proactive problem-solving skills, and practical knowledge of construction techniques and sequencing. Additionally, they should have a time-served trades background, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Foreperson or similar supervisory role, and previous experience working on educational or public sector construction projects is highly desirable.
