Job Overview:

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at a GMP certified chemical production facility in Laois.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Science or another relevant EHS discipline and experience preferably within manufacturing environments, particularly in pharmaceutical, food, medical device, or chemical manufacturing.

The successful candidate will support the development and monitoring of the site's environmental, health, and safety performance, ensuring compliance with legislative regulations. They will perform risk assessments for various operations, conduct inspections, and implement associated risk controls where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the development and monitoring of the site's environmental, health, and safety performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform risk assessments for various operations, on equipment, and tasks, and implement associated risk controls where necessary.
• Conduct inspections and internal assessments to detect existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
• Develop, establish, and conduct training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices for administrative, manufacturing, laboratory, and outside service personnel.

Requirements:

• A relevant third-level qualification in Environmental Science or another relevant EHS discipline.
• Experience preferably within manufacturing environments, particularly in pharmaceutical, food, medical device, or chemical manufacturing.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• A compliance mindset regarding company and legal requirements.
