Lead DevOps Engineer Role Overview

The Bank of Ireland is embarking on a journey to transform its software development process. We are seeking hands-on, proactive Lead DevOps Engineers who can leverage their technical expertise and strategic problem-solving skills to drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product requirements and develop best-in-class delivery pipelines
  • Provide guidance on DevOps tools, environments, and standard processes to cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with the DevOps Centre of Excellence to build scalable and secure software solutions
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in software development or operational facing roles with exposure to releasing applications into production environments
  • Excellent technical skills in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, and C, C#, Java, Golang, along with test frameworks
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure management, configuration management, and orchestration tools
