We are seeking a visionary Scrum Master Manager to lead our Customer Solutions IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technology solutions that accelerate the delivery of Irish Life's strategic goals, with a focus on technology health and customer experience.

Job Description

The Scrum Master Manager will be part of the Customer Solutions IT Team, leading an IT development scrum team within the Programme Delivery function. The Programme Delivery function is responsible for the IT delivery of Customer Solutions strategic initiatives. The Scrum Master Manager will report to the Programme Delivery Lead.

The ideal candidate will have a significant number of years IT experience, including leadership experience, and a strong blend of technical ability. Demonstrated success in planning and delivering complex projects is essential. A deep understanding of Agile and Scrum principles is required.

The Scrum Master Manager will be responsible for facilitating agile ceremonies, coaching the team on agile principles and scrum practices, identifying and removing impediments to team progress, and fostering a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Coach the team on agile principles and scrum practices.
  • Identify and remove impediments to team progress.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Track, improve and share team metrics (say/do, velocity, burndown charts, sprint reporting).
  • Provide direct line management to team members, including performance reviews, career development planning, and regular 1:1s.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A relevant 3rd level qualification in Information Technology or related area is essential. Exceptional communication and influencing skills to articulate views and insights clearly to all management, peers, and stakeholders are also required.

Motivational leadership style to inspire the team to develop and succeed, vision and strategy thinking to navigate change and lead in a dynamic environment, and experience managing direct reports, including performance and development conversations, are highly desirable.
