Grants Verification SpecialistAs a Grants Verification Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of project expenditures. Your expertise in verification and audit will be instrumental in tailoring your work to the size and nature of projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify that expenditures are eligible, accurate, and in line with project budgets, highlighting any discrepancies or irregularities for management action.
  • Complete verification forms and reports, identifying areas of non-compliance or financial anomalies.
  • Develop tailored verification strategies to address the unique needs of each project, focusing on cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide clear and concise recommendations for improvement, addressing financial irregularities and promoting best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review funding schemes, policies, and procedures, adapting to changing priorities and demands.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English, demonstrating strong academic credentials.
  • At least 2 years' experience in one of the following: Verification or audit of expenditure OR Financial accounting OR Payroll processing, showcasing expertise in financial operations.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing financial processes and/or controls, highlighting analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, fostering strong relationships and communication.
  • Proficiency in working with MS Office packages, particularly MS Excel, demonstrating technical skills and adaptability.
