We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team as a Children's Residential Care Worker. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering individualised care to young people referred to our service, helping them grow, develop new skills, and overcome challenges. They will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment that meets the unique needs of each young person.

This role requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safeguarding and a thorough understanding of child development theories and principles.

The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain accurate daily records, communicate effectively with parents, professionals, and referral agents, and participate in team meetings, training, and service development.

Requirements
  • A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant and related field that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU
  • A full, clean manual driving license valid in Ireland
  • Experience working with teenagers exhibiting challenging behaviour
  • Right to live and work in Ireland
Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people, families, and colleagues. They will also have a strong commitment to lifelong learning and a desire to continue their professional development.

They will be familiar with the Irish National Standards in Children's Residential Centres and have a good understanding of child development theories and principles. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate their ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
