We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Children's Residential - Social Care Leader to join our team. As a key member of our care community, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering tailored care packages that meet the unique needs of each young person.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support your team during shifts to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and high-quality care delivery.
- Collaborate with management to implement Placement and Crisis Management Plans that prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents.
- Provide educational support to children both in and out of school, fostering their emotional and cognitive growth.
- Engage in direct residential care, responding to identified needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Record and document all client interactions and activities, maintaining accurate and detailed records for ongoing care planning.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, social workers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support networks.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, strategic planning, and policy implementation to drive excellence in care delivery.
- Monitor health and safety, ensuring compliance across the unit while promoting a culture of safety and respect.
- Support relief staff, trainees, and student placements, providing valuable mentorship and guidance.
- Assume managerial duties in your absence, upholding continuity and consistency in care delivery.
- Manage finances, petty cash reconciliation, and reporting with transparency and integrity.
- Uphold confidentiality, professional standards, and company values at all times, prioritizing the dignity and autonomy of our residents.
- Encourage open communication and whistleblowing in line with established policies, creating a safe and supportive environment for all.
- Undertake any other relevant duties required to support the home's operations, ensuring seamless integration of care and administrative tasks.
Educational Requirements
A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related field that meets the criteria for registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU is essential.
Required Criteria
- Minimum 2 years' experience working directly with children/young people in a social care setting.
- Experience leading teams and working in therapeutic care models, such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
- Familiarity with National Standards in Children's Residential Centres.
- Full, clean manual driving license valid in Ireland.
- Right to live and work in Ireland.
