Job Description:

As a Senior Optical Network Specialist, you will be responsible for architecting and expanding high-capacity infrastructure across a distributed network of data centers. This involves end-to-end involvement in the development and implementation of cutting-edge optical solutions that support diverse customer needs and enable internal systems to operate efficiently on a global scale.

The global infrastructure division is responsible for the lifecycle of data center environments – from strategic planning and design to deployment and ongoing operations. This team ensures seamless performance of systems behind large-scale cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and facility infrastructure like power and cooling.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience in planning and deploying high-capacity DWDM and Optical network systems
  • Collaboration with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features
  • Creation of implementation plans for incorporating them into the network
  • Experience in working in highly available networks and highly operationally aware tools for network automation scripting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience such as the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies
Benefits:

This is a daily-rate contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent after the initial 11-month contract. All applicants must have valid working rights in Ireland and be able to prove same.
