Night Porter Job Description

The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the property between 10:30pm and 6:30am. This includes tasks such as greeting and checking in guests, dealing with queries and complaints, taking reservations, providing late night drinks and food service, maintaining clean front of house areas, and carrying out night security checks.

Effective communication, organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently under pressure and provide excellent customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the property during night hours
  • Complete all tasks and duties to a high standard
  • Deal with guests, security, reception duties, cleaning, conference setup, food and beverage service, and run nightly reports
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality industry
  • A knowledge of Guestline Office System or similar is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication, organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work equally well in a team environment and on their own initiative
