High-Performance Data Centre Designer

Circet Ireland & UK is seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Data Centre Design Department in Letterkenny. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design and planning of structured cabling and network systems within high-performance Data Centre environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and layout structured cabling systems and network infrastructure for data centre builds and upgrades.
  • Interpret technical drawings, floorplans, and specifications to produce accurate network designs.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external contractors to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout drawings, and design packs.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure feasibility and compliance with design requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering or related fields, along with experience in structured cabling design, network planning, or data centre environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering or related fields; Construction Management or Construction Technology is also acceptable.
  • Experience in structured cabling design, network planning, or data centre environments.
  • Familiarity with BIM/Revit, particularly producing LOD500 designs.
  • Knowledge of BICSI standards and/or RCDD certification.
  • Understanding of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) services in a data centre context.
