Job Title: Senior Cost Management Specialist

This role plays a pivotal part in the success of our projects by ensuring effective cost control and management.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost control strategies that ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual terms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost control strategies aligned with industry standards and contractual terms.
  • Monitor and assure compliance with cost control standards, notifying senior management of any non-conformance issues.
  • Develop the cost management strategy for the programme, reviewing proposed contractor Key Performance Indicators for cost, spend, and budget management.
  • Oversee the management of variations, monthly cashflow forecasting, and amendments/variances, retention, liquidated damages, etc.
  • Provide advice to the Risk team on the financial impacts of potential risks.
  • Monitor anticipated final costs, reviewing and approving those completed by the Cost Management team.
  • Ensure that the contracting entity achieves optimum value for money in procurement and delivery of the programme.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in quantity surveying or a related field.
  • Clear understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong experience in delivering technically complex infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of cost management principles, methods, techniques, and tools, including the standard method of measurement.
  • Proficient in MS Office (all packages) and knowledge of project financial and cost management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical ability, and ability to drive team participation and high performance.
