Job Title: EHS Specialist

Job Description

The role of the EHS Specialist involves providing guidance and support to colleagues and service providers on environmental, health, and safety requirements. The specialist will be responsible for conducting regular inspections, being a visible presence on site, and providing active support to colleagues and service providers, particularly in areas related to environmental and engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities include providing EHS support to other areas as required, ensuring continual improvement initiatives are in place to maintain ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO50001 requirements, actively fostering an ethos and culture of EHS awareness through engaging and working with cross-functional teams, including external providers, managing contractor works in relevant areas, conducting inspections, internal assessments on various programs to identify opportunities for improvement, and investigating events and implementing corrective and preventive measures.

Additional responsibilities include providing technical safety and environmental expertise and support to relevant departments and personnel on site, supporting others for EHS risk management processes for relevant site areas and tasks, and supporting the EHS Head to ensure that the site is compliant with EHS legislative, regulatory bodies, and corporate requirements.

Requirements for this role include a minimum Level 7 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or an equivalent discipline, at least three years of EHS experience, preferably with exposure to pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environments, a strong technical background with a hands-on approach to EHS, demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges effectively, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
