Expert Cloud Database Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator to oversee the management, optimization, and support of our cloud-based database systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases across multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and IBM. This includes managing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions to maintain data integrity and ensure business continuity.
- Database Management: Administer and maintain cloud-based database systems, leveraging AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL Flexible server, Azure SQL Managed instance, IBM Database, and Google Cloud SQL.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, analyze slow queries, suggest query optimizations, and optimize database performance using best practices on cloud-based configurations.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to safeguard against data loss and ensure rapid recovery in case of a disaster.
- Security: Develop and enforce robust database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management to protect sensitive data.
- Maintenance: Develop and implement scripts and automation tools for routine database administration tasks to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on cloud-based databases and cloud platforms.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in managing databases on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Strong knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities, and the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
