We are seeking an experienced Head Grounds Person to lead the care and ongoing development of estate grounds in Kildare, Ireland.
Job Summary:This is a hands-on role for someone who loves working outdoors and has experience in estate, gardens or grounds management. As a Head Grounds Person, you will be responsible for maintaining the presentation of extensive private grounds, including formal gardens, fencing, hedges, tree felling, lawns, woodlands, and open spaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance and presentation of extensive private grounds, including formal gardens, fencing, hedges, tree felling, lawns, woodlands, and open spaces
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of 6 garden staff and manage their day-to-day duties
- Co-ordinate the overall maintenance of the grounds of a few thousand acres
- Liaise with external contractors as necessary
- Purchasing of garden machinery and supplies
- Proven experience in estate, gardens or grounds management
- Amenity Horticulture qualification
- Hands-on horticultural knowledge and a proactive, practical approach
- Strong leadership skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise work effectively across multiple areas
- Rewarding full-time role in a stunning, private estate environment
- Competitive salary, circa €60,000 commensurate with experience
