Test Manager Job Description

This is a permanent position available from February 27, 2025.

The Role and Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead our testing team and ensure the successful delivery of our business objectives.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of planning, organizing, and managing testing on all test rigs to meet business objectives.
  • Key responsibilities include operating test rigs and supporting equipment, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the rigs and equipment, and coordinating and managing test plans.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for analysing and presenting test data to drive the development of heat pumps, designing and developing test rig software as required, and supporting the development of new equipment throughout the design process.
  • As a Test Manager, you will lead and motivate the test team to meet deadlines and support the professional development of direct reports.
  • You will also be responsible for supporting workshop, production, and general lab management as required, and promoting quality, tidiness, and organization within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ME/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with significant previous experience (5+ years) as a Test Engineer Team Lead or Development Team Lead.
  • Excellent understanding of controls and instrumentation is essential, as well as 10+ years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, heat pumps, or similar.
  • Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience is desirable, along with preferably hydraulic systems design experience.
