Job Summary

We seek an experienced Financial Accountant to join our growing team at our Head Office in Galway. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis, period-end close activities, and management accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse financial and non-financial data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and revenue maximization.
  • Participate in period-end close activities, including P&L and Balance Sheet preparation for statutory entities.
  • Resolve complex information to inform decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Reconcile and report key costs in the P&L and business streams, conducting monthly reviews with budget holders.
  • Assist in preparing year-end statutory accounts for group companies, including consolidation accounts.
  • Engage in project work as directed by the Head of Finance/Finance Director, focusing on automation and process improvement.
  • Mentor junior staff across various sub-departments.
  • Play a crucial role in the external audit of Financial Statements.
  • Involvement in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow forecasts for the group.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years' experience in practice or industry.
  • Strong analytical/data analysis skills are essential.
  • Ability to comprehend and manage complex intercompany/consolidation accounting processes.
  • Experience in Group/multi-country entities is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SAP is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary, with the ability to effectively communicate with non-finance colleagues.
  • A high level of commercial awareness and the ability to shape the future of the business.
