Job Description:
As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Intercom, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our AI-driven customer service platform. Your expertise will be instrumental in defining new ML features, researching cutting-edge algorithms, and rapidly deploying prototypes to production. You will work closely with our product and design teams to identify areas where ML can create significant value for our customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting exploratory data analysis and research to deeply understand problem areas
- Researching and identifying the right algorithms and tools to solve complex problems
- Performing offline evaluation to gather evidence on algorithm efficacy
- Collaborating with engineers to bring prototypes to production and socialize learnings to inform iteration
- Partnering deeply with the rest of the team to build exceptional ML products
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 5-8 years of applied ML experience, with a strong background in senior or staff roles (data science, software development, or academic)
- Demonstrated impact from your work on products and/or teams
- Strong programming skills, with experience as the primary technical leader for a team
- Excellent communication skills, both within engineering teams and across disciplines
