We are seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

Job Description:

Tirlán is embarking on a transformative IT project, partnering with a third-party provider to establish its own IT capability. The initial focus will be on enabling projects, requiring collaboration with the partner and new roles within the Tirlán IT team.

Tirlán is a world-class food and nutrition co-operative, operating in Ireland, the US, MEA, and China, delivering annual revenues of over €3 billion and employing 2,300 people across 11 processing plants and 52 agri branches.

Overview

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will report to the IT Transformation Manager, responsible for maintaining data centre infrastructure and working together with a managed service provider for Tirlán's data centres and server infrastructure.

The role will oversee the work performed and manage operational aspects of the managed service provider relationship, ensuring the datacentre and central IT Infrastructure comply with security standards and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the managed services provider to set up, configure, and maintain hardware and software components within the datacentre, including servers, storage, and operating systems.
  • Oversee Microsoft IT Infrastructure components, such as Active Directory and related core IT infrastructure services, ensuring they are secure, available, performing optimally, and addressing technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Direct managed service providers during routine maintenance tasks and upgrades on central IT infrastructure, adhering to Tirlán's security policies and controls.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT teams and stakeholders to support new initiatives and projects.
  • Participate in datacentre and central IT Infrastructure-related incident management, liaising with service management, the managed service partner, and application teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years' experience in Microsoft IT Infrastructure or similar.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure services like Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Proven experience working with managed service providers in managing datacentres and IT Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of security standards and best practices, including ISO 27001 and NIST.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware Technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and storage technologies.
  • Knowledge of data backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Networking experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in working with Cloud Services desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with a growth mindset.
