Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the development of large-scale affordable housing projects.

About the Role

The Development Manager will be responsible for managing developments across various stages of the life cycle, from early concept to delivery and handover. Key responsibilities include site feasibility studies, development strategies, design team coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage developments at various stages of the development life cycle, ensuring timely completion and delivery.
  • Conduct site feasibility studies, identifying opportunities and constraints.
  • Develop and implement development strategies, including optioneering analysis and delivery approach recommendations.
  • Prepare development briefs, project scope statements, programme plans, budgets, and design team scopes of services.
  • Liaise with internal and external project teams, stakeholders, and key players to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate the appointment of design teams, professional service providers, and construction contractors.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, build relationships, and proactively manage design teams and service providers.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team for effective project delivery.
  • Administer project documentation, including contracts, reports, programmes, and project registers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in property development or a related field.
  • A passion for delivering transformative developments, with residential experience an advantage.
  • A recognised degree-level qualification in project management, construction, or a related industry field.
  • Strong project management skills, including proactive management style and solutions-oriented approach.
  • An excellent understanding of the Irish or UK Planning, development, and construction sectors.
  • Experience across the development lifecycle, from site feasibility to construction.
  • Technical knowledge of planning systems, construction buildability, technical solutions, and value engineering.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and ability to drive projects forward.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to motivate and empower others.
