Housing Officer

Location: Dublin

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Job Summary:

As Housing Officer, your main responsibility is to provide a visible and highly effective presence in your designated locality. You will deliver a quality housing management service, including lettings, with a strong customer focus, ensuring KPI targets, customer satisfaction, and regulatory standards are met.

You will ensure the correct operation of housing management and lettings policies and procedures. You will work with the Housing Services Team Leader to promote community pride and belonging, supporting initiatives like customer engagement activities and Locality Panels.

The role involves maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism in housing management, developing cross-functional initiatives, and supporting service improvements and reviews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Functional):

  • Support the development of operational delivery plans for Housing Services, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Assist the Lettings Team to ensure properties are let promptly, minimizing void rent loss.
  • Provide housing management services in line with tenancy agreements and statutory requirements.
  • Manage viewings, sign-ups, and property handovers efficiently.
  • Work with partners to deliver coordinated services, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure post-letting processes are completed, and properties are properly set up.
  • Advise customers on appliances, safety, and provide necessary certifications.
  • Collaborate with agencies to support vulnerable tenants.
  • Liaise with external partners to keep customers informed about property readiness.
  • Identify at-risk applicants and work with teams for holistic onboarding.
  • Support safeguarding, policy advice, and tenancy breach actions.
  • Use customer feedback to improve services, ensuring fairness and respect for individual needs.
  • Engage in community safety and improvement initiatives.
  • Promote community pride and ownership.
  • Implement housing policies, monitor compliance, and meet customer needs.
  • Work with internal teams to deliver services on time and within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Organisational):

  • Contribute to operational planning.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and support colleagues.
  • Provide data and testimonials for reports.
  • Promote effective communication, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop networks with colleagues and external agencies.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Conduct activities safely, adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Ensure risk assessments are in place and followed.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
