CONTRACT: FULL TIME/ PERMANENT

HOURS: 37 HOURS PER WEEK

REPORTING TO: RENT RECOVERY MANAGER

Please note a full clean driving licence and daily access to a car are requirements for this role.

Job Summary:

The Rent Coordinator is responsible for managing tenant's rent accounts, customer facing, maximising rent collection and controlling arrears.

The suitable candidate will

Work individually and as part of a team to action tenant rent arrears weekly by phone, letters, emails and on-site visits.

Arrange payment plans, helping tenants to set up standing orders, Household budget deductions and liaising with relevant councils to secure tenant rent payments.

Present presentations when tenants are moving in, helping them set up rent payment methods.

Follow rent arrears procedure to ensure rent collection and manage rent arrears.

Build and maintain customer relationships for all tenants in arrears and accompany Housing Officers to visit tenants in severe arrears to discuss payment plan/options.

Deal with enquiries immediately and advise Housing Officers of any issue which requires attention.

Assist with queries for the Rent Operations Department.

Updating tenant information as and when notified via correspondence.

Admin duties in relation to the tenant rent account and/or other duties as required by Senior Rent Co-Ordinator or Manager.

Requirements:
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • At least one years' experience in a similar environment, i.e. Collection, Housing, Finance or Customer Service.
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Commitment to working in a customer-focused and solution-oriented manner.
  • To participate on forums/working groups/committees as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.
