Job Overview:

The Hodson Bay Hotel is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Swimming Pool Guardian to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests in and around our swimming pools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Pool Area: Continuously observe the pool area, maintaining constant vigilance to prevent accidents and enforce safety regulations.
  • Enforce Safety Regulations: Ensure guests comply with safety guidelines, including appropriate attire, diving restrictions, and age regulations.
  • Provide Exceptional Service: Assist guests with inquiries, provide information, and offer assistance as needed.
  • Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Perform regular inspections of pool equipment and facilities to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Promptly and effectively respond to emergencies, administering first aid and performing water rescues if necessary.
  • Report Maintenance Issues: Notify the appropriate department of any maintenance issues or safety concerns for immediate resolution.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work with other hotel staff to coordinate pool activities and events.
  • Complete Documentation: Accurately and timely complete required documentation and reports.
  • Attend Training Sessions: Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain certifications and stay current on safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Lifeguard Certification: Valid certification from a recognized authority or organization.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting.
  • Physical Fitness: Strong swimming skills and physical fitness to perform water rescues and respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact courteously and effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Calm Composure: Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of Pool Safety: Familiarity with pool safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and keen observation skills to identify potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Positive Attitude: Positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
