River House is one of six homes for older people run by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Our home accommodates 29 residents, each with their own unique needs and preferences.
Job Purpose
The primary function of this role is to assist with the care and support of residents within the Christian ethos and aims of River House. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation and serving
- Support residents with mobility and transfer needs
- Participate in routine health checks and reporting any concerns to relevant staff
- Engage with residents in activities and events that promote social interaction and community building
Essential Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An NVQ or QCF qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Experience working in a care setting, preferably with older adults
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
