As an Operational Risk Analyst, you'll bridge the gap between the Risk team and other departments, ensuring proactive engagement and collaborative problem-solving.

The role requires:

  1. Developing a deep understanding of operational risk within Investec Europe Limited (IEL) and awareness of market, liquidity, and credit risk drivers.
  2. Capturing and reviewing operational risk events and losses, including root cause analysis and resolution.
  3. Documenting actions arising from operational risk events and/or risk & control self-assessments, with subsequent follow-up and monitoring.
  4. Assisting with the identification and quantification of material risks and scenarios for each business unit.
  5. Working closely with other risk management personnel to identify, measure, and manage credit, market, and liquidity risks.

You will produce daily and regular risk reports for the business, including analysis and commentary on movements in risk exposure.

To succeed, you'll need:

  1. In-depth experience in operations or operational risk roles.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset.
  4. Able to multitask, show initiative, and meet deadlines.
  5. Financial analysis and understanding of credit risk.
  6. Interest in FX, interest rate, and commodity markets and products.
