Maintenance Manager Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to join our organization as a Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and people management, with experience in a GMP pharma/biotech setting.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, scheduling maintenance in advance, and coordinating with production and QC to minimize downtime during maintenance access. The role also involves prioritizing and assigning work to engineers and contractors to support production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule maintenance in advance, ensuring vendor work, EHS checks, and POs are in place.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with production and QC to minimize downtime during maintenance access.
  • Workload Planning: Use a workload planner to balance tasks across the team.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained on schedule.
  • Prioritization and Assignment: Prioritize and assign work to engineers and contractors to support production.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' maintenance and people management experience in a GMP pharma/biotech setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of EU GMP, particularly Annex 1 and Annex 15. Proficient in CMMS, ideally eMaint. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
