We are currently seeking a highly ambitious junior global trade consultant to join our team in Dublin.

The role involves providing business consulting services in global trade compliance and risk, trade data analytics, and modelling for optimal global trade and supply chain solutions.

The successful candidate will work on truly global issues, assisting with customs compliance services, preparing responses to client queries, and contributing to winning new work by identifying potential opportunities.

  • Be part of a team assisting with provision of global customs compliance services for multinational clients.
  • Prepare responses to client queries by undertaking customs and excise technical research.
  • Support management to successfully deliver multiple, parallel projects ensuring technical excellence and a pragmatic, business-driven approach.
  • Contribute to winning new work by proactively listening to existing clients' needs and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Assist the team as a subject matter resource (SMR) to contribute to development of automated solutions to enhance compliance and cost-saving propositions.
  • Design and implement trade classification frameworks using HS codes and tariff schedules to ensure accurate product classification and duty optimization across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Conduct trade flow mapping and scenario modelling to identify cost-saving opportunities and compliance risks in global supply chains.
  • Develop and maintain customs valuation methodologies in line with WTO and local customs authority guidelines, ensuring consistency and defensibility in audits and reviews.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for assisting with customs compliance services, preparing responses to client queries, and contributing to winning new work by identifying potential opportunities. You will also be involved in designing and implementing trade classification frameworks, conducting trade flow mapping and scenario modelling, and developing and maintaining customs valuation methodologies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least degree-level qualification, strong critical-thinking and curiosity, effective time management, client/commercial awareness. You should also have ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working autonomously and in a matrix team. Experience and/or appreciation of International Trade, Trade Policy, and the International Relations arena is also desirable. Excellent research, analysis, and synthesis skills, preferably in the field of trade, trade policy, tax policy, or related fields, are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required. Outgoing team player with strong relationship-building skills is necessary.
