Job Title: Strategic Customs Manager

The Strategic Customs Manager is responsible for delivering outsourced services, managing teams and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements to clients.
  • Ensure all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements are adhered to.
  • Develop efficient processes to manage shipments against appropriate timelines and expectations.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and industry trends to update internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and resolve issues effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs brokerage operations.
  • Monitor team workload and identify opportunities for automation and productivity improvements.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a business-related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of export/import laws and regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience in customs/global trade, technology, manufacturing, and/or BPO.
  • Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.
  • People management experience across different geographies.
  • Strong project management skills and technological savviness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment; strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a passion for learning and creative problem-solving.
