Senior Financial Manager for Board of Directors

Voluntary Housing Support Services (VHSS) is a company that provides services to volunteer-led Approved Housing Bodies.

The board of directors consists of representatives from these organisations. Their responsibilities include:

  • Complying with VHSS's governing document
  • Ensuring VHSS complies with its charitable purpose for the public benefit
  • Acting in the best interests of VHSS
  • Managing VHSS's assets

Day-to-day operational matters and service delivery are handled by a Manager and five staff members.

VHSS has 28 member organisations, with 21 based in Co. Limerick and seven in other counties.

We seek an individual with a proven record in financial management or accounting to join our board of directors.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant, ACA or CIMA qualified, with at least five years' senior management experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing insight into all financial policies and controls, and making recommendations for change
  • Overseeing compliance and risk management
  • Serving on the Finance Committee to evaluate and monitor financial controls and procedures
  • Advising the board on financial implications of proposals, cash flow issues, budgeting etc.
  • Liaising with VHSS's solicitor, bank, accountants and auditors as required
  • Being an authorised signatory

Board meetings will take place four times per annum, with Finance Committee meetings held as necessary.

Meetings will typically be held in Adare, Co Limerick or Limerick City.
