Job Description

We are the team behind Ireland's electricity grid. We operate the power system with world leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring that everyone has power when they need it.

This is a key leadership role responsible for leading the transformation of our power system in support of the transition to renewable energy.

You will have a deep understanding of how to manage continuous improvement of cloud-based services on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This includes aligning services with business needs, meeting SLAs and following best practices in cloud governance, operations and architecture.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all Cloud Services across the organization are measured and evaluated against Key Performance Indicators and will be the primary interface with internal stakeholders in ensuring the quality of products coming from the Cloud Services team.

In this role you will lead and develop a core team of DevOps professionals operating in a partnership model with all areas of the business and specific Service Providers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloud technologies, especially Azure and Oracle OCI/customer@cloud. They will also have experience in complex migration programmes and vendor management, as well as ITIL, Agile and Waterfall deliveries.

A passion for customer orientation, commercial focus and expertise in managing critical services through 3rd party vendors is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of our power system in support of the transition to renewable energy
  • Manage continuous improvement of cloud-based services on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Evaluate Cloud Services against Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop a core team of DevOps professionals
