Lead Information Access Specialist

The role of Lead Information Access Specialist is crucial within our organization, responsible for effectively managing and accessing information requests in line with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to manage and access information requests
  • Oversee the progress of requests under various acts, including the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to teams on information requests, exemptions, and appeals
  • Brief senior officials on complex information access requests involving public interest tests and sensitive information restrictions
  • Raise awareness across the organization, promoting information management and delivering staff training in information access
  • Foster a collaborative approach to managing information requests impacting the Legacy team's work
Key Requirements:
  • Thorough understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (2000)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to manage electronic document and records management systems
  • Sound knowledge of the Data Protection Act (2018) and GDPR
