The Role

  1. Design and Implement Comprehensive Test Automation Frameworks: Develop, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks across various testing layers (UI, API, database) to ensure efficient and effective testing processes.
  2. Create and Execute a Long-Term Test Automation Strategy: Conceptually design and work hands-on to create, enhance, and execute a long-term test automation strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  3. Research and Implement New Automation Tools: Research, evaluate, and implement new automation tools and technologies to enhance test efficiency and keep up with industry trends.
  4. Analyze and Optimize Test Coverage: Identify test automation opportunities, analyze test coverage, and optimize test suites for maximum efficiency to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality products.
  5. Mentor and Guide the QA Team: Mentor and guide the QA team in adopting automation best practices, providing technical leadership and support to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  6. Foster a Culture of Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the QA team through training and documentation to ensure everyone is equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.

What We Need to See from You

  1. Proven Experience as an Automation Lead Engineer: Proven experience as an Automation Lead Engineer with a strong track record of building and implementing automation frameworks is essential for this role.
  2. Expertise in Programming Languages and Test Automation Frameworks: Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript) and test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, xUnit, NSubstitute, FluentAssertions, Autofixture C#, PyTest/PyTest-BDD, Nose2) is required.
  3. Strong Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle: A strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) is essential for this role.
  4. Experience with Version Control Systems: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and modern branching strategies is required.
  5. Ability to Lead and Mentor: The ability to lead and mentor QA engineers is critical for success in this role.
  6. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with various roles in an Engineering organisation.
