Shift Maintenance Technician Job

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring all facilities and equipment are maintained to high standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure machinery and equipment remain in optimal working condition.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimise disruption to production.
  • Carry out daily inspections and checks on equipment, identifying any faults or areas for improvement.
  • Order and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.
  • Work closely with production teams to understand machine performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Train and support colleagues in maintenance best practices.
  • Monitor and improve energy efficiency by identifying opportunities to reduce power consumption and improve sustainability.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • Proven maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
  • Experience in pneumatics, inverters, servo drives and motors, robotics, process wiring, and safety controls.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
