Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team plays a vital role in driving innovation at Amazon. As we continue to evolve and adapt, this team ensures that the tools and technologies we use keep pace with our growth.
As a Senior RME Technician, you will be instrumental in helping us stay ahead of the curve by adopting the latest technologies and identifying new and efficient ways of working. You will pay close attention to our processes to maintain our high standards and implement upgrades to take those standards even higher.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop best practices for using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone adheres to correct procedures
- Monitor equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when required
- Support technicians on shift to foster their development and serve as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers
- Solve equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and enable operations to process packages efficiently
- Contribute to finding ways to continually improve systems and standardize processes across the EU network
A typical day in this role involves leading a team to ensure everyone has the necessary equipment and that it is running properly. This includes monitoring processes to ensure adherence to regulations and policies and conducting preventative maintenance to increase equipment uptime.
With every observation during shifts, you will suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive, then implement those improvements across an EU-wide function. You will also utilize tools like Scada to guarantee process performance and work closely with your line manager to assist with administrative tasks.
This role is located at one of our operational sites, and you will work shift patterns, which may include some weekends and nights. As you gain experience in this exciting area of Amazon, you will be well-positioned to progress into more senior roles.
Basic Qualifications:- A full Engineering apprenticeship or qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering subject
- Relevant experience in a technical leadership position
- Relevant experience working in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
- Experience working in a multi-contractor and multi-site environment
- Understanding of PLC-based control systems and statutory compliance requirements
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks
- A degree in a technical discipline or operations
Amazon values diversity in its workforce and believes that employing a diverse team is crucial to its success. We prioritize equal opportunities and recruit based on qualifications and skills rather than protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected statuses.
At Amazon, we strive to create an inclusive culture where employees can excel and contribute to delivering exceptional results for our customers. If you require accommodations during the application and hiring process, please visit our website for more information.
Join us in fostering a workplace that empowers Amazonians to innovate, simplify, and build meaningful solutions.
