Senior Clinical Litigation Specialist

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. The NTMA is designated as the State Claims Agency (SCA) when performing the claims management and risk management functions delegated to it under the National Treasury Management Agency (Amendment) Act 2000.
The SCA's principal objectives are:
- To act fairly and ethically in its dealings with people who have suffered injuries and who take legal actions against the State or State bodies, and the families of these people;
- To implement targeted personal injury and property damage risk work programmes to mitigate litigation risk in State authorities and healthcare enterprises, in order to reduce the costs of future litigation against the State.
For this role we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Litigation Solicitor to join our team on a locum basis. This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced solicitor to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, manage a designated portfolio of clinical litigation files, provide advice on ancillary matters, keep up-to-date on relevant areas of law and practice, and assist the head of clinical litigation as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a designated portfolio of clinical litigation files;

- Keep up-to-date on relevant areas of law and practice;
- Provide assistance and support to the head of clinical litigation as necessary;
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably delegated from time to time.
- Minimum of four years' post qualification experience in personal injuries litigation arising from clinical care;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
- Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team;
- Willingness to share knowledge, experience, and expertise;
- Adaptability and flexibility towards the introduction and promotion of new approaches to improve processes;
- Knowledge qualified to practice as a solicitor in this jurisdiction; Knowledge of the Irish public health sector is advantageous.
