Project Engineering Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Specialist to join our team on a major energy project in East Cork. This is a permanent position with a well-established contractor that delivers large-scale civil and utility projects across Ireland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the engineering and technical aspects of the project, ensuring high standards of delivery, compliance, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Civil and Structural Oversight: Manage civil and structural elements of the project from design through to completion.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure works are delivered in line with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive successful delivery.
  • Documentation Control: Lead documentation control including method statements, risk assessments, technical submittals, and QA/QC records.
  • Project Planning: Support project planning, scheduling, and reporting to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Risk Management: Monitor progress, manage risks, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years experience in civil engineering, with exposure to large-scale infrastructure or utilities projects.
  • Strong background in structural steel and civil works.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Proven track record in managing project documentation and quality assurance.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
