Geneva Trading seeks a highly skilled High-Tech Support Specialist to join our team. As a pivotal member of our IT department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional desktop support and ensuring seamless customer satisfaction with systems and applications.

About the Role:

This position involves troubleshooting complex PC and Mac software and hardware issues, supporting various end-user devices, including PCs, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals. Your primary focus will be on providing first-line support for all administrative group software and hardware issues, as well as serving as an escalation point for trader-related software and hardware problems.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Investigate and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner, escalating to senior team members as needed.
  2. Configure and maintain PCs and servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  3. Conduct thorough system performance testing to identify and resolve inefficiencies, implementing improvements to enhance overall system stability.
  4. Provide comprehensive support for all administrative group software and hardware, ensuring seamless functionality and minimizing downtime.
  5. Serve as a key contact for traders, providing prompt and effective support for software and hardware issues affecting their work.
  6. Manage user account creation and maintenance, ensuring accurate and secure access to company resources.
  7. Design and implement cost-effective solutions for workstation setup and equipment deployment, streamlining processes to optimize efficiency.
  8. Participate in rotational on-call weekend support, ensuring continuous coverage and maintaining high levels of service quality.
  9. Collaborate with trade support to monitor applications and maintain infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruptions.
  10. Manage phone system configuration and maintenance, guaranteeing reliable and efficient communication.
  11. Coordinate the shipping of hardware to off-site locations, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing logistical challenges.
  12. Maintain accurate inventory records for workstations, monitors, and other equipment, preventing stock discrepancies and optimizing resource allocation.
  13. Develop and refine monitoring tools to prioritize desired alerts and prevent unnecessary notifications, enhancing system performance and reducing distractions.
  14. Create scripts to automate routine tasks, freeing up time for more complex and strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 5 years' experience working with computer hardware, GPUs, memory, CPU, and other related technologies.
  2. The ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, ensuring prompt and effective issue resolution.
  3. Availability for on-call shifts outside regular business hours, weekends, or holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to excellence.
  4. Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  5. Strong attention to detail when analyzing log files to diagnose application problems.
  6. Proficiency in Linux/Windows operating systems, with experience in scripting (Python/Perl/Bash) and database management (MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  7. The ability to learn new processes and applications quickly, adapting to evolving technology landscapes.
  8. Physical stamina to perform desk setups and other manual tasks, as required.
