Construction Estimator Opportunity

A well-established Consultancy is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management, a minimum of two years of QS experience, preferably at a PQS Consultancy, and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word.

This is a challenging opportunity to work on current and ongoing projects, providing high quality cost consultancy across a wide variety of projects for public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage designated projects, taking ownership and ensuring timely completion of agreed actions
  • Measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scope
  • Check project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessary
  • Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with construction professionals, and ensure smooth site operations
  • Produce and maintain up-to-date procurement schedules, compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
  • Compile subcontract orders for approval, assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments, and carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
  • Minimum of two years of QS experience, ideally at a PQS Consultancy
  • Motivated, driven and works well within a team
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word

Experience Required:

  • Highly motivated and results-driven individual with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
