The Asset Operations function is responsible for providing operational and maintenance support to our customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards. The Water and Wastewater Operations team is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive a consistent and reliable supply of clean water and wastewater services.
As a Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator, your main duties will include operating treatment processes on assigned treatment plants, carrying out routine maintenance activities, and providing cover for other operators as required. You will also be responsible for monitoring quality parameters, conducting daily indicative operational checks, and reporting results through appropriate systems.
For the role of Water/Wastewater Network Operator, you will support the operation of the water and wastewater network, delivering consistent customer service and carrying out routine maintenance activities on network assets. Your duties will include checking chemical dosing measures, investigating and resolving customer complaints, and supporting Customer teams with any customer issues or queries.
In the role of Water/Wastewater Network Maintenance & Repair Operative, you will support planned and reactive maintenance and repair activities across the water and wastewater network infrastructure in a safe and hygienic manner. Your duties will include repairs of bursts and leaks, water mains and services, cleaning of service reservoirs, replacing valves and hydrants, and undertaking tests following repairs to pipes and pumps.
To be successful in these roles, you will need to have strong problem-solving skills, a strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems and practices, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
Requirements:
- Secondary level education or equivalent work experience
- Full, clean and valid Irish category B driving licence is minimum requirement. Additional Driving License categories an advantage
- Experience/understanding of working within a strong health & safety culture
- Previous maintenance experience, such as working in a construction/roadworks environment is an advantage
- Sound knowledge and experience of all skills required for maintenance and repair of the water network preferable
- A basic awareness or understanding of water networks and knowledge of water network processes is an advantage
- Working knowledge of maintenance and repair of water meters preferable
- Experience of using IT systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills
