Maintenance Technician

INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITESOur client a cork based Multinational Medical device manufacturing Company is recruiting for Maintenance Technicians. Openings will have a contract duration of 6 months.SUMMARY OF JOBSupport the preventative and predictive maintenance programmes by carrying out effective maintenance routines and repairs to prolong the useful life of the equipment in designated Departments. Support the facilities team when required and liaison with contractor's onsite. Give maximum availability and reliability to the site assets.RESPONSIBILITIES1.Technicians are required to be fully aligned to designate departments within Operations.2.Ensure maximum maintenance support for the departments is provided at all times.3.Provide support to the Facilities team and systems to maximise equipment uptime for the departments in accordance with the requirements of the company.4.Support the companies manufacturing programme, by ensuring response times to equipment breakdowns are kept to a minimum.5.Involvement in the department Reliability Centred Maintenance programme is essential.6. Assist the department in achievement of world class M.T.T.R. and M.T.B.F. metrics.7.Support the implementation and upkeep of the the Companies Manufacturing equipment Excellence Programme.8.Support the Companies Manufacturing Equipment Excellence strategy to enable achievement of all goals and objectives set out for the Technical Services Department.9.Promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in line with lean thinking and Manufacturing Equipment Excellence.10.Lead and implement the Total Asset Care program within the Departments.11.Participate and implement the 5s program within the Departments and technical Services areas.12.Support N.P.D. and N.P.I. projects during development and introduction to the facility.13.Promote and participate in the Technical Services Continuous Improvement Process.14.Reporting of work status on a timely basis to the maintenance coordinators and Departments Leaders and team leaders.15.Maintain a log of activities carried out on equipment i.e. actual hours worked, spare parts used, equipment downtime etc using the site Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).16.Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.17.Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the GMP requirements.18.Ensure all hazardous and non hazardous materials are disposed in line with company procedures19.Minimise the environmental effects of all work that a technician performs.20.Responsible for the safe & efficient operation of equipment onsite21.Responsible for ensuring contractors comply with company environmental policy regulations & also for waste management within areas of responsibility22.All employees are responsible for minimizing both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform.23.To adhere to all the company's procedures as detailed in the relevant CSOP's.KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREDCommunication skillsHighly motivatedStrong work EthicA flexible approach to workInitiative and InnovationTeam orientatedContinuous Improvement Focused.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL:Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skillsExperience in pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and repairA clear understanding of roboticsExperience with high speed manufacturing equipmentExperience with maintenance of Vision systemsExperience with Windows NetworkingSome Programming ExperienceHave programming knowledge for Logic Controllers, Drives, HMIDemonstrate levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application.Relevant working knowledge of an FDA regulated industry and GMP requirements. Experience working in a Cleanroom environmentGood computer skills.A 3rd Level Qualification in automation systems or MechtronicsDESIRABLE:Previous experience working with a CMMS preferably Maximo within a maintenance environmentMinimum 3-5 years experience in an FDA maintenance environment.Experience with Label printers and label placement equipment
