Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the development of our manufacturing automation capabilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for growing our automation capabilities to win new revenue through offering cost-effective and competitive assembly options.
You will work closely with our business development team to identify opportunities for automation and develop proposals to present to customers. You will also be responsible for project managing new product development/introduction projects and managing the development of automation systems for new and existing products.
In addition, you will work with customers and potential customers to promote our site's automation capabilities and provide technical reports/proposals and simulations for production lines. You will also collaborate with our corporate design team on product options for Fermoy and provide customer support through direct involvement on customer focus teams.
Key Responsibilities- Growing Sanmina Fermoy's Automation capabilities to win new revenue through offering cost-effective and competitive assembly options.
- Supporting Business Development Team to win new business in product development space.
- Project Managing when required new product development/introduction projects.
- Managing the development of Automation systems for new and existing products.
- Working with customers and potential customers to promote Sanmina Fermoy in the area of Automation for improved manufacturing.
- Providing Technical Reports/Proposals and Simulations for Production Lines.
- Collaborating with Corporate Design Team on Product Options for Fermoy.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- NFQ Level 8 Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics or automation related discipline).
- 3-5 years experience in a similar design/project management engineering role in manufacturing or equipment build environment.
- Excellent Equipment Knowledge and Process Debug Troubleshoot Skills.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing.
- Good Communication and Influencing Skills.
