Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Educational Psychology and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents.">
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to design and implement tailored care plans.">
  • Offer consultation, clinical supervision, and support to team members and trainee psychologists.">
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with service protocols.">
  • Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and ongoing quality improvement.">
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychology.">
  • Develop and deliver training and psychoeducational programmes for families and professionals.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Educational Psychology (must be validated by the Dept of Health in Ireland).">
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a clinical setting.">
  • Eligible for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).">
  • Strong assessment and therapeutic skills across a variety of clinical presentations.">
  • Experience supporting children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.">
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.">
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.">
  • Previous experience in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).">
  • Training in specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, systemic therapy).">
  • Experience delivering training or psychoeducation to families or professionals.">
