Clinical Psychologist Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Clinical Psychologist to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people facing complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents. They will also be able to collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to design and implement tailored care plans, offer consultation, clinical supervision, and support to team members and trainee psychologists.

Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with service protocols will be essential. The successful candidate will also contribute to service development, policy implementation, and ongoing quality improvement.

They will need to stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychology, as well as develop and deliver training and psychoeducational programmes for families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to design and implement tailored care plans
  • Offer consultation, clinical supervision, and support to team members and trainee psychologists
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records
  • Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and ongoing quality improvement
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychology
  • Develop and deliver training and psychoeducational programmes
Essential Requirements:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Educational Psychology
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a clinical setting
  • Eligible for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland
  • Strong assessment and therapeutic skills across a variety of clinical presentations
  • Experience supporting children and adolescents with complex mental health needs
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
  • Previous experience in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
  • Training in specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, systemic therapy)
  • Experience delivering training or psychoeducation to families or professionals
