Job Title: Senior Fund Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fund Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of complex investment funds, including portfolio valuation and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation.

The role involves liaising with investors, investment managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, systems development, and other ad hoc projects as required.

  • Portfolio Valuation and NAV Calculation: Review and understand the fund's offering memorandum and verify that offering memorandum agrees to fund set up and ensure ongoing operations adhere to offering memorandum details.
  • Liaise with Investment Managers: Liaise with investment managers, prime brokers, and custodians in relation to trading activity as required for transaction processing and NAV preparation.
  • Cash Management: Track all cash items whether portfolio related, capital transactions or from non-portfolio and other income and expense items.
  • Reconciliation: Perform three-way reconciliation of cash and assets/liabilities to the investment managers and custodians.
  • Independent Pricing Support: Obtain independent third-party pricing support where needed.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be involved in client relationship management, new business integration, and meeting tight reporting deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A university graduate with a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role working with complex securities and derivatives products.
  • High level of expertise and technical knowledge of alternative investment products, the offshore financial services industry including system technology, portfolio valuation, accounting, share transfer and registration, prime brokerage, financing and custody.
  • A sound working knowledge of all Windows applications and ideally, knowledge of fund accounting applications.
