This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in addressing the complex mental health needs of the homeless population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, working closely with colleagues from various disciplines to provide comprehensive services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Registered as a specialist in the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialties of psychiatry.
- Demonstrate expertise in investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders in this specialist area of psychiatry.
- Display evidence-based clinical knowledge in making decisions regarding client care.
- Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organizing skills.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and awareness and appreciation of the service user.
- Demonstrate leadership and team management skills, including the ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
Requirements:
To be considered eligible interested applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Qualifications:
- Specialist registration in the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of psychiatry.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in working with vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
- Strong clinical skills and evidence-based practice in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support team members in achieving shared goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Postgraduate qualification in psychiatry or related field (optional).
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in community settings.
- Knowledge of local mental health services and resources.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Achieving Shared Goals:
The successful candidate will have the ability to motivate and support team members in achieving shared goals. This includes demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong clinical skills and evidence-based practice in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions.
