Job Summary:

Senior Application Security Specialist

As a seasoned security expert, you will play a critical role in safeguarding applications by independently performing thorough security assessments, guiding junior engineers, and contributing to strategic application security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee comprehensive security assessments and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate and address identified security issues effectively.
  • Develop and implement security protocols to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence within the team.
  • Estimate, plan, and execute application security activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Liaise between the security team and upper management, identifying and communicating any blockages or challenges.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of threat modeling and ability to identify potential security risks.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and guiding other engineers in security best practices.
  • Management and leadership skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong reporting skills, with ability to document and communicate security issues clearly and concisely.
Preferred Skills:
  • Deep analytical skills with comprehensive understanding of application security.
Education & Certifications:
  • Minimum: Formal education in cybersecurity with strong foundation in Computer Science.
  • At least one expert-level security certification.
Experience:
  • Minimum: At least 2+ years of experience as Senior Application Security Engineer.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT sector with demonstrable security knowledge.
