Deli Assistant Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our deli team as a Deli Assistant. This role involves preparing and serving hot and cold food items, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service.

  • This is an entry-level position ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in presentation, and has good communication skills.
  • As a Deli Assistant, you will be responsible for operating deli equipment safely, taking customer orders efficiently, and assisting with stock rotation and deliveries.
  • Apart from being friendly and approachable, we require candidates with previous deli or food-handling experience, and HACCP training is desirable but not necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold food items.
  2. Ensure counters are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
  3. Follow proper food hygiene and safety procedures (HACCP compliant).
  4. Take customer orders efficiently and provide excellent customer service.
  5. Operate deli equipment safely (slicers, ovens, etc.).
  6. Assist with stock rotation, date checks, and deliveries.
  7. Maintain cleanliness in line with company guidelines.
About You / Qualifications:
  • You should be comfortable working in a busy environment and have good attention to detail.
  • Friendly and approachable with good communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial.
  • HACCP training or willingness to complete it is desirable.
