Head and Neck Cancer Care Specialist

At St. James Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Head and Neck service. As a CNS, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialist nursing care to patients with Head and Neck Cancers. Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing care to patients with Head and Neck Cancers, incorporating evidence-based practice into your daily work
- Work as part of a consultant-led multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and develop treatment plans
- Lead on patient and staff education, ensuring that all stakeholders receive the necessary information to provide high-quality care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless services and continuous improvement in patient care
- Stay up-to-date with national and international guidelines, applying best practices to improve patient outcomes
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 1 year's post-registration experience in a relevant clinical setting
- Experience in teaching and assessing junior staff/nursing students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others
- Ability to work safely and effectively within your scope of practice
Desirable Qualifications
We also welcome applications from candidates who hold:
- Nurse Prescribing Registration or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe
- The Nurse Prescribing of Ionising Radiation Certificate or agree to undertake within an agreed timeframe
- Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems
