Senior Acoustic Consultant Job Description

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our consultancy, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, including project finances.
  • You will also be responsible for technical coordination of acoustic assessments, writing technical reports, and providing direction to team members and sub-consultants.
  • Additionally, you will communicate with clients, team members, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements and up-to-date standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, including project finances.
  • Technical coordination of acoustic assessments.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Providing direction to team members and sub-consultants.
  • Communicating with clients, team members, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5+ years' experience working in the consulting sector as an acoustic consultant on infrastructure, renewable energy, datacentre or other large projects requiring EIAR.
  2. Proven track record in delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Minimum BSc or BA (Hons) degree in engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
  4. Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA).
  5. Full Driving Licence.
  6. Exceptional organisational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to lead initiatives.
  7. Familiarity with current acoustic standards and knowledge of acoustic modelling and calculation software and acoustic instrumentation.
  8. High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
  9. Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
  10. Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  11. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  12. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
