Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health Team in South Dublin. This role offers an opportunity for career progression from a 6-month contract to a permanent position with the HSE.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement treatment programs for service users according to established service standards.
  • Manage a caseload based on post requirements.
  • Collaborate with service users, families, carers, and other staff members in treatment planning and provision of support and advice.
  • Plan discharge or transition of service users between services as necessary.
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries in accordance with local service and professional standards.
  • Communicate assessment results, treatment plans, and recommendations to the team and relevant parties in line with service policy.
  • Attend designated meetings, clinics, review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds, etc.
  • Maintain quality practice standards and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as needed.
  • Maintain professional standards regarding confidentiality, ethics, and legislation.

Requirements and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in mental health is desirable.
  • HSE mandatory training completed (or willingness to complete before starting).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, recovery-oriented, and person-centred approach.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
