The role of the Senior House Officer/Registrar In Psychiatry With Child is to contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health care services within the Mental Health Services, HSE South West. As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for participating in the provision of medical care to patients, diagnosing and treating patients, and ensuring that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises the safety and well-being of patients.Main Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients in accordance with best practice and clinical governance.
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of medical care to patients.
- Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises the safety and well-being of patients.
- Assess patients on admission and/or discharge as required and write detailed reports in the case notes.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and initiate and monitor treatment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and clients.
- Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings, case conferences, and ward rounds.
- Possession of active registration with the Irish Medical Council is essential.
- Relevant experience in Psychiatry is required (6 Months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
